What does an energy assessor check during a visit?

Our qualified energy assessors carry out a detailed inspection of your property, which includes:

  • Checking the construction of walls and insulation levels.

  • Confirming how many windows are double-glazed.

  • Recording the number of open fireplaces.

  • Identifying the make and model of the boiler in line with SEDBUK regulations.

  • Looking for renewable energy systems like solar panels.

  • Counting low-energy light bulbs.

  • Verifying the type of heating system (e.g. gas, electric, underfloor).

  • Noting insulation around hot water cylinders.

  • Assessing heat loss through the roof and checking loft insulation.

  • Measuring window areas in larger properties.

  • Taking accurate measurements of conservatories and extensions.

  • Checking how many habitable rooms are heated.

What happens after the visit?

Once the assessment is complete, the data is uploaded to government-approved software. Your Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is then generated and sent to you via email within 24 hours of receiving payment.
